A little bit of history
Eighteen acres of vines were planted last summer as part of a trial to mark the beginning of Essex’s newest vineyard, Missing Gate, the most recent and exciting project undertaken by the Speakman family.
All 18,000 of our vines are rooted into our steep clay hills rolling down towards Woodham Ferrers, and the River Crouch beyond.
The family have worked the land at Woodham Lodge for three generations over 70 years, giving us an intimate knowledge of our agricultural surroundings and a great jump-start to life as vineyard owners.
A little bit about us
We are Charlie, Ollie and Jack Speakman, three farming brothers who own and run Dog Dynasty.
Dog Dynasty is a purpose built, secure, one and half acre dog walking park, situated in the Essex countryside near the Missing Gate Vineyard.
Passionate about our dogs and our farm, creating a safe, enclosed dog arena within a beautiful part of our farm is something we have wanted to do and now finally we are here.

Charlie
Charlie manages the vineyard and is frequently seen on his blue tractor around the farm, see if you can spot him. He is a rugby fanatic and loves an artisan Gin and Tonic.
Ollie
Ollie works for the family business selling food technology around the world. He likes outdoor adventures including fishing and is an avid supporter of Liverpool FC.
Jack
Jack is a chef in London and works part-time on the vineyard. He likes walking his Labrador Pluto to local pubs in the countryside, where they both enjoy a Sunday roast.
